Aftermarket idler arm

Need to get a new Steering idler arm and told that the steelers at looking for about £65 for one.

has anyone used a atfermarket one as i can get one of the for under £20.

i remember someone posting a while back that they bought one from feebay for around 20 sovs and it was fine. i need one myself and unless i hear god reasons not to i intend getting it from ebay.

I have an autovaux one on mine, been there a couple of years, no probs.

I bought mine for about £25 - seemed to be fine.

There's a good guide to fitting in the maintenance section btw.

Beware, there appears to be varying evels of quality on these.

I tried a cheap one and the first thing I noted is how difficult it was to fit on the body mounted pivot.....it then failed within 12 months.

Other pattern items I have fitted have been fine so avoid the uber cheap ones (look for OEM ones) and definately avoid the ones from LMF (Market Harborough) as, just like thier crank sensors, the quality is shite!

Thanks for the help guys have orderd one from VSC and will be with me on tuesday. Have booked the car in to have it fitted 1st thing sat day . One job down.

Just to check with having a new one fitted will i have to get the tracking done after. The place that i am having it fitted a to guys that worked for Vaux and have done some jobs before and have VERY good service and nice guys too, they to me that it would not  need doing.
