My keys need replacing?
« on: 25 July 2008, 16:51:58 »

Hi Guys, the locking button on my key will not work. After taking it apart, I found the weld to be cracked. The door unlock and boot open buttons both work.
Could I replace the fob with a new one, use the current blade and chip part with a new fob without having to get it recoded?. The other key fob has broken welds on the battery holder so it will not work at all. Ideally I could do with two new fobs.

Many Thanks

Jim

the fob needs programming to the car - needs tech2 or a descent autolocksmith with the correct equipment
check locally with autolocksmiths I got mine (fob) and programmed to car for £45 iirc

A different fob will need programming via tech2.

You could send it off to Martin Imber who does a repair service on them
