V6 cambelt change around Northampton
« on: 06 August 2008, 08:05:29 »

Hi Guys.
A friend of mine wants to do his cambelt and pump. Can you advice who could help him in Northampton area and what would be the price (Vx parts)?
Thanks

parts about £100 - Gates or contitech are fine.  no need to use VX.

if he gets the DVD and a locking kit then he should be fine.

I have not got much time at the mo but probably could lend a hand if he gets stuck (which he will not 'cos the DVD is brilliant)

Locking kit might be a problem… I will ask him anyway.

If you have a look in the OOF shop there is a step by step DVD showing the cambelt change. It is worth doing the water pump while you are there as it only costs £30 and you have to remove the same parts as doing the cambelt, if the pump fails at a later date ;)
