timing belt

hello my timing belt has slipped

and stuff has broken

what is likely to have bust ?

You may well have bent valves, possibly cracked the valve guides and worse case holed a piston :(

could be lots of bad news here BUT do not lose all hope.  It depends on how much it has slipped.  If a tooth or two then you may just get away with it.  

What to do - identify why the belt has slipped first and how far it has slipped.  Second if you can reliably reset the belt then do so and check the compression on each cylinder.  If you get compression I'd throuw on a new belt and tensioner and give it a go.

On a v6, if its slipped more than 3 teeth or so, valves will have had a chat with pistons....
