« on: 11 August 2008, 14:51:36 »

Guys

I was looking to get the latest s/ware for my 1998 2.5td auto, and was wondering if anyone north of the border could help for a fee of course, or alternatively i have the tech2 s/ware though I have never used it  can it be done via the obd2 port?
and if yes could i get the file off anyone  I would gladly make a donation to the site etc

thanks

Its done via diag port under steering wheel. As well as TIS2000 you need a genuine Tech2.

We may soon have access to a Tech2 north of Hadrian, so if it can wait a few weeks....  :-X

Can't it be done by dealer? I had mine done a week ago and along with changing display language from german to english, it cost me around 19 pounds. It's in Estonia though, not sure what the prices are in UK.

UK dealers either say it can't be done (as they are stupid) or want a futune to do it.  You may find the odd one who will do for 1/2hr labour (so around £40)

Might be cheaper to use our local rip off dealers than pay for the petrol to bring the Omega over ;D

Phil you need to get yourself to Autovaux in East Kilbride, they specialise in VX, got my autobox upgraded there for about £20. Guys got a proper tech2 with software but I'm not 100% sure he knows how to use it. Then again I only asked him to upgrade the software on the gearbox, hes probably mastered that one by now.  :y

You need more than a Tech2, you also need a current, valid subscription to TIS.
