Help
« on: 20 August 2008, 23:11:13 »

Guys, I posted over a week ago about "automatic gearbox" appearing on display, Now I have found atf leak and am in process of getting that sorted. Thing is it has not come up on the display since, now would it only tell you about the promblem once or should it keep reminding you till the problem is sorted. The car drives fine. No noise from gearbox or clunky changes, no fault codes and everything does as it should, Any suggestions please?

Have you checked the ATF? was it at the correct height?
Where is the leak from that you have found?

John you text me asking how to do it and I replied to you, telling you how.

If you have a leak it will need topping up. If you don't have a gearbox leak you need to check the level as you have had the warning up on your MID

I would still check the level though mate, if you have a leak the level will have dropped you dont want to cause more probs before fixing the actual problem when you get time

There is a how too in the maintence section.... but I actually lifted my whole car so it was level, using axle stands and ramps.
You need to have the car running first before you start, then undo the level plug which is on the drivers side of the gearbox, if no oil comes out it needs filling up until it starts coming out.
That is it really
