That picture brought back some memories! Whatever you do, don't mess about trying to offer it up to the gearbox in the car... in the rain. :-X

Yup, still sat in my garage...

But on the upside, when LFF64 and I swapped the engine back, it was much quicker. And drier....

Yes, that replacement engine was a knacker.

Should have listened to me.....OFF WITH ITS HEAD (which you had to do in the end anyway!) and then you wouldn't have breaked about removing any engine!  :y ;D

Yeah yeah yeah....   ....but I would have missed out on all that 'fun' we had swapping the engine. Twice.

As my old father, god bless him cotton socks, taught me - you want to listen to all advice, but you learn by your own mistakes.  Jeez, I should be a bloody genious ::)

I don't consider the engine swaps a waste of time. Quite the contrary, I found it educational, rewarding (despite the fact it didn't work), and confidence boosting - something you know I lack.

But, yes, you were right....

Next time you fancy some education get a Westfield. Last engine out took me 45 minutes single handed to get it out and onto an engine stand. 15 mins of that was getting the engine hoist out of the car and assembling it. ;D

It is one of those "Gay" 4 pot engines though.  ;D
