With other cars this usually means an air lock within the cooling system causing the heater matrix to fail in providing heat, especially after working on your car.

With your miggy I would certainly open the water bottle cap when the engine is cold and then warm up the engine to operating temperature with the cap remaining off and carefully squeeze / manipulate the main water hoses and those to the heater matrix that enter the rear bulkhead on the lower left hand (drivers) side of the engine.  Be careful of hot water of course, but see if the water level suddenly goes down.  If it does, the air lock has been cleared.  Turn off engine, let cool for a few minutes then add a 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze up to the "max" mark and replace cap.   Your heater should then work fully again. :y

If this does not work your problem is something else and you need to come back and tell us. :(

When the oil cooler was replaced, was the cooling system thoroughly flushed out (about 20 times)?

hi
ive done it so many time`s ,,have forgot just how many,, i still get a bit of oil in the header tank.but it`s getting better, with each time, not new to working on car`s so can do most small job`s ok and will have a go at some other big one`s as well.. just new to this car but the heat has always been a problem untill the top hose came off the pipe which goes to the matrix in the bulk head after that it was ok untill now,,

Have you removed the hoses to baukhead, and flushed that through?

Forte do a coolant flush especially for the aftermath of oil cooler failure - may be worth a punt to get the last of the oil out?

yes, do as above but have the heater blowers on at the same time, dash vents on full power. was told it does help.
