hmm... I would stick to GM if it was me

I will prob be going to vauxhall and putting anorder in (cambelt, oils, gaskets, filters, plugs + more). I will get them on trade club (somehow) so shouldn't be too bad

I 'think' the GM cambelt + tensioners are about £110-130 ish

LMF are utter rubbish - dont buy steering idlers from them! You've been warned![/size]

Never heard of Dayco.  General advice for cam belts is stick to Vx one, or one made by GM suppliers.

Get either Gates or Contitech kit.  GM kits made by these 2 suppliers.

Got 2 recently for V6s - Contitechs - top quality items.

Best price i could find was from http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/timing-belt-kit-vauxhall.php?pageNum_Recordset1=17&totalRows_Recordset1=313 - fast delivery, well packaged.

Belt + idlers etc top quality (all bearings SKF).

No problems with fitting.

[edit]Vx retail price is around £150 for cam belt kit - on TC i was quoted £97 + VAT.  Contitech kit was £50 + VAT - now gone up to, i believe, £60 + VAT.[/edit]

My advice would be to stick to VX genuine parts. Also wise to take engine number with you when ordering the kit.

I recently bought a 3litre Elite and got the cambelt changed as the one on there when I bought the car looked rough even though I had a reciept stating that a new one had been fitted.

Got it fitted by a vauxhall trained mobile mechanic who works on vauxhalls only (he charges on average half the price of the main dealer). He told me the reason the one on there was rough is because it was rubbing on the mounting bracket and I was with him when he removed them and they were well shot away.

Aparently there are 4 different types which is why you need to have your engine number when ordering the parts.

I advised them of the engine nºs when i ordered - both mine start 082....  The belts appeared ok, fitted ok, and the corredt tensioner castings were supplied (EB type).

[edit]Actually states on their site "->MTR-NO 08300418" - thats up to engine nº 08300418!! :y [/edit]

That one on the first link (Dayco) doesn't appear to have the top roller/tensioner unit - or am I missing something :-?.  If so, I would avoid as these bits are critical to replace with the belt.
