Just picked up the bulbs - and the pack had the remainder of the Vx Stock Control sticker still attached.

Further to "Elite Pete" and "Shyboy" comments, the pick quantity is indeed 10 - i.e. they do come in packs of 10 supplied to the dealer.

However, parts guy at Rowcliffe's in Taunton (and it would appear other dealers around the country) had no problem in splitting the pack and just giving me the 4 I need.....

I guess it depends how militant the guy behind the parts desk is at your particular dealer........ :-/
Hey ho......

And whether they are interested in retaining further business from me.  ::)

I've got my instrument panel out to renew an illumination bulb, and rang Ormskirk Vauxhall to order this and an additional warning light bulb to do the trailer warning light conversion.
Firstly, they refused to quote or confirm a part no. because 'they change too often'. Secondly, even though they asked for the vehicle reg. no. as a means of identifying the actual model version, they say there are three large ones when in fact there are four, but the fact that I had the panel in front of me cut no ice with them. Furthermore, they wanted to know what the bulb ratings were, and couldn't give me this info. from the computer screen they were using.
Also, they have to be bought in packs of 10, because they aren't prepared to hold them in stock. What a waste of time these people are. They at least admitted at the end of the debate that Vauxhall's cataloguing system is cr*p.

If I were you I would change your Vx Dealer for parts!  My  Caffyns Vx dealer does them in singles and to order using the part numbers I quoted earlier in this thread. ;)

If they only do them in packs of 10, it might be something to consider for the OOF shop.

Good idea, Pete, provided the bulb ratings and panel design were consistent over the years. I wouldn't count on it though.
If I can believe Ormskirk Vauxhall there must be a few different types around.

There are a few panel types but, the bulbs stayed the same.

And EPC is not hard to follow.....unless your only computer skill is turning on a PS!  :y

As I stated earlier the following are the part numbers for the SINGLE bulbs, NOT packs as available from Vx if you use the right dealer:

VAU 093190932   £1.03 ex-VAT  Caffyns April 2008

VAU 093190467   £0.72 ex-VAT      "  "     "       "

BTW, if you haven't done this job before, be aware that the lug for the screw in the centre of the panel fouls a plastic cover plate underneath the top cover as you try to remove the panel. Make sure you press this plate downwards gently as you slide the panel to the left to ensure proper clearance, to avoid marking the steering column shroud.

This is true on pre-facelifts, but on facelifts you need to remove the top cover of the steering wheel shroud by releasing the scews, found on the front of this shroud when turning the wheel spokes to 6 and 12 oclock. ;)

Unless I'm mistaken, you don't actually need to unplug the MID - the clocks panel will tilt forward enough and rest face down on the steering column with the grey connector still in place, and you can access the bulbs that way.

Agreed.  That's how I did mine! :y

Just in case anyone is REMOTELY interested  ;)

All done - no problems.....many thanks to all for their help.

Couple of points though.....

I found the screws that retain the instrument cluster to be those really annoying types that don't come away cleanly. In other words they cling on for dear life, until you have unscrewed it ALL the way.

I can see why this would be an advantage generally speaking, but if you're not expecting it they have a tendancy to "pop" out at the last moment - which usually results in the aforementioned screw being dropped (in this case) into the depths of the dashboard........

An hour later, when screw was finally retrieved, I thought that this was a suitable comment for this thread - in amongst the swearing and bleeding knuckles....

I guess I'm just clumsy!!  ::)

Once again - many thanks to all for their help!!

Just to put this one to bed, and hopefully contribute something to this thread.....

I took the opportunity to replace ALL the bulbs behind the instrument cluster when I was there.

For my 2003 (Facelift) Omega 2.2DTi, I needed the following bulbs to replace EVERYTHING....

(Part Numbers are Vauxhall Parts Desk Part Numbers)

2   x V0090566032        12v 2.0w (Warning Lights)     £1.27 (+ VAT)
12 x V0091155676        12v 1.1w (Warning Lights)     £0.85 (+ VAT)
4   x V0009195062        (Dial backlights)                    £0.58 (+ VAT)

If you have a MID, you may want to take the opportunity to replace the 4 bulbs there too. In which case you will want another:-

4  x V0090566032        12v 2.0w (Warning Lights)     £1.27 (+ VAT)

My car did not have a towbar or traction control, and so the apertures for those bulbs were empty.

Hope the above helps.....<grin>

Cheers!!
