Does my car have a built in telephone?
« on: 05 September 2008, 23:11:15 »

Hi - I was wondering if my 2002 Omega Elite has a built in telephone - I am not sure of the radio model but will check tmrw if it is needed but I have a facelift Omega with the colour screen and sat nav (factory fitted) with the 4 disc changer and what can only be described as a telephone keypad complete with red and green buttons underneath - I realise that you can select stations and CD's with the keypad but the red and green buttons I never use which has basically got me wondering if there is a telephone option - My old 1999 Omega DID have an inbuilt phone with the SIM card slot behind the flip off fascia but I can't see any SIM slots on this head unit - maybe some other method?

The car has also had fitted a fairly old model Nokia Kit/cradle which I want to take out if the car has a built in telephone function OR have this kit updated to take my Nokia N95.

Many Thanks

You've either got an NCDR2013 or an NCDR2015.

The green and red buttons are used for the Sat Nav on the 2013 and 2015, on the 2015 they are also used for the phone if you have the telematics unit fitted in the glovebox.

Thanks for the speedy replies ! just been out and checked - its the siemens NCDC 2013 and can't see anything IN the glovebox itself that could be the unit you mentioned.

I have been setting the sat nav via the steering wheel controls on the rare occasions that I have used it.

Looks like I will be modding the after market kit in the car then.

Cheers

Green button can be pressed to direct you to the 'home' destination you have set on your Nav.  :y

2013 doesn't support telematics, only the 2015.
