3.0 Backbox Replacement

Well i attempted to take the migs backbox off yesterday to try and weld the hole in it up but unfortunatly when i removed the rubber mounts the backbox literally fell off as the rust rusted the back where the 2 pipes go in!

anyway been phoning the local motorfactors and they are all wanting £120ish Vauxhall on TC want £100 has the vauxhall one got posh crome ends on it?

No they dont, at least mine did not. Still double skin but not chrome and not angled. Pipes are square cut at the end and are the same material as the rest of the box in appearance.

 They have changed the construction of the boxs so youll get a round tube with 2 end caps for the silencer rather than the original pressed top and bottom halfs. New one is lighter and will probably catch less water with the round shape.

And they don't come with the clamps already fitted/welded in place.

Maybe the 3.0 and 3.2 are differant?

As an info, the original exhaust in miggy have chrome in it..So even argon welding dont stay long on it..( Said by the exhaust specialists  :-/)
