oil cooler V6 X30XE omega 2000
« on: 14 September 2008, 22:35:17 »

Hi, would someone who knows be so kind as to list all the parts I will need to change the oil cooler please. I have ordered the cooler, but need to know which gaskets/o-rings/seals I need for the inlet manifold and rocker boxes (as they leak). I have to get all the parts for Wednesday, so any help will be much appreciated!!!! I have oil in the water, and no water in the oil (which suggests it's the cooler, as it burst a water pipe with emulsified gunk..... I will be changing oil filter, oil, rad flushing the pipes, new antifreeze etc..

Many thanks,
Myk

Hi,

Check out the how to guides on here (under the maintenance heading). Member "Jamesv6cdx" has just posted an excellent guide to how to do the job, and further down a few threads "ilovemyelite" has posted a list of parts too. Links below.

Both appear excellent, and at the right time cos I have just found out I need to do the same job on my 2.5 meega.

Make sure you order the oil cooler kit which includes the cooler, cover plate, two rubber washers and the cooler nuts.

Its much cheaper than the individual parts

thanks for your help. hopefully it will be back on the road on Friday. Am I right in thinking that I need the plenum O rings and the inlet manifold seals (orange funny looking things) as well to do this properly. has anyone got the Vx parts numbers for those and the rocker box gaskets please?

Cheers,
Myk

Never needed to replace the inlet gaskets myself and you can get the camcover gasket seals from here  :y
