2,5 TD Maf sensor Check.
« on: 16 September 2008, 12:54:39 »

Is there anyway of checking the MAF sensor on these (PreFace TD), Volts or Impedeance etc?, or can you by pass them without going into limp?

I assume its a BM part and not the same as the VX petrol ones.

Anyone got one laying arround for a few quid (working), cant source one locally.

They actually dont do much on the diesel and only play a real part when revving the nads off them where they limit the peek fuel to match that of the air flow to stop smoking.

From memory, if you unplug it on these they make no odds to the normal operation!

A few more tests from my notes.

1) Measure the voltage between pin 1 and 0V - Should be >11V
2) Measure the voltage between pin 1 and pins 5 and 6 - Should be >11V
3) Measure the voltage between pin 2 and 0V - Should be 4.5-5.2V
4) Measure the voltage between pin 3 and 0V - Should be less than 0.3V

That not far from what I believe the problem, seems like lack of power at High Revs?, Might even be limp mode now?, never driven a TD in Limp?
