temp gauge very slow

hi all - in the mornings driving to work, my temperature gauge doesnt really move up until i am almost at work (18 miles) but when i drive home it moves, and when hot, fans cut in and cools it normally - any one any ideas as to why it is not registering in mornings?? - thanks

hiya
iv had a similar problem... start it up and my engine revs seem to affect the temp guage?
also it can get quite hot just sat but then when i put the fan on with it on hot it drops right down just below 90 is it?
fault codes have come up for the cam sensor and lambda if you think that would have any affect?

thanks guys...........................yea, ive thought about stat...i'll see how it goes as it isnt troublesome - thanks for your help.

agreed stat or possibly the little brass temp sender unit.
