cheapo tech 2

Hi, is there a cheapo tech 2 that will work with my car, just for reading and clearing codes?

Yes there are lots .... i have the RAC one so i know that works and reads engine and gearbox if auto .... you can get it from Argos or i got mine on Fleabay brand new in box for £30 .

Beware some scanners will not talk to earlier than 2001 models the scanner I purchased will only clear fault codes and not read them.  So just check before hand.  HTH.

Indeed .....petrol from 2001 and diesel from 2004 i belive all had to be obd2 compliant ....  :y

cheapo tech2 from egay.  usb ones don't work to well, nor do usb to serial adapters, so have a laptop with a real serial port, and get serial version for around £20

Be aware, the software sucks though, flakey, and half in Hungarian.  Marks DTM did a few mods to it to make it mostly english
