If you bought a car on the agreement it has a mechanical fault, I'm not sure it's appropriate to ask for some "money back" because the extent of the issue is worse than you hoped  :-/

James I spoke to the guy and was joking with him, HE bought the car under the same understanding, until he rolled it into his £25,000 Navaro denting the bonnet and grill making it uneconomic to repair IN his OPINION.. Seeing I have just broken a STAR SILVER MV6 and still have the BONNET and GRILL, the head gasket was worth it. to be honest if i BROKE it, I'd be in profit.

The phone call was made with a grin and laughing from both ends of the call and he also was in total amazement when I sent him the pics.

NOT ALL BUYERS AND SELLER HAVE A PURELY BUSINESS DEALING.

Have you got a sticky caps-lock key?  ::)

If I was the seller, I'd be more worried about the 25k car, than the Omega!

In seriousness, best wishes with the repair, I will be interested in your progress  :y

Thanks James, not so much a repair as I think it's beyond that. more so, just an engine / oil change :y :y :y

Many people wouldnt know the difference.
Not sure how you would without opening the engine, nothing visible from outside.
HG would seem a sensible diagnosis I reckon

I think whoever diagnosed that as a HGF had the music turned up too loud when it failed.  ;D It wouldn't have let go desperately quietly.  ;D

You are assuming car knowledge.

how many people know whether a HG makes noise when it goes?
None of my family / friends would have a clue
