to be sure i'd ask "markey mark" as he knows both 2.5 and 3.0's
or somebody else that does.
the prop should be fine as should the gearbox but you'll need the ecu from the 3.0 and also you'll need the spigot bush thing for the gearbox. a thing to consider-i dont know to be fair but you could ask about it. the 3.0 has about 60nm of torque more than the 2.5 so you might well need a 3.0 clutch

That 30 ltr sounds a little large for the omega engine bay, there's a guy in one of my mags got a 27 ltr in rover, would love to see it once it's in. ;D on a more serious note I was led to believe that an auto block has a different casting than a manual but cannot be sure. Tom

Mechanically it will fit, but you'll need to fit a spigot bearing and bush if the donor is an auto, going into a manual. You'll also need to use the flywheel from the manual.

You may also need to transfer the ECU etc as the values are likely to be different :y

you'll need to swap the ecu but wont need a gearbox ecu if the one your keeping is the manual (manuals dont have them) whats the bodywork like on the 3.0?
both manual and auto ecu's are the same

I thought just swapping the ecu's will cause the immobiliser to lock out, you also need to swap the other parts from the immobiliser if I'm correct

I seem to remember a guy in Germany selling  an ECU chip for the 3litre conversion of a 2.5 but that was  auto to auto or manual to manual.
Checkout fleebay Germany for Opel Omega tuning chips

I bought a chip from germany for a 3.0 ltr off ebay to run in my 2.5 after fitting 3.0 ltr cams I find it great. it also seems to cure the problem of coding the engine management as I run it in two different cars when the immobiliser flashes the EM. light and won't start.

if you get your carpass off vauxhall then you can get somebody with tech2 (like some people on vxon) and reprogram it that way  :y
