How many litres of it should i buy for an antifreeze change on my 2002 2.2 CD..... parts guy a Vx said 2 litres would be enough  :-/

According to the handbook the total capacity is 9.2/9.4 litres so you could do with atleast another couple of lites for a 50/50 mix.

Depends how much of the old you get out.  By using rad drain, you'll get around half out (around 3-4l)...

I was planning to release bottom hose .... fill with clean water .... do that a couple of times then put in the new stuff .... Guy at Vx says you shouldnt really mix the older blue stuff with the new pink one as it could cause problems

well thats it done .... used rad drain , filled up with fresh water then used rad drain again then used 4 ltrs of the pink stuff topped of with water . Ran the engine till everything was nice and warm . Letting it cool down now then i'll check the level and see what protection level i have on my antifreeze tester thing

Mmmm on my tester it says its ok to -15c .... that should be ok shouldn't it ..... maybe my tester is sh*t  :-/

I just have a feeling they don't work ...  :-/
I'm sure that someone .... Mark .. will know for certain.

I did try it with just water and none of the disks floated .... but they did with the antifreeze , or 3 did anyway

Yup, the 3 ball anti freeze testers work OK with the longlife red Vx antifreeze.

Mine has 6 coloured disk things in it ....

The density of Ethylene Glycol is 1.1132 g/cm³
The density of Propylene Glycol is 1.036 g/cm³

Your hydrometer will therefore not be accurate with long life antifreeze, it will under estimate (I think).

So if mine has 2 disks floating which means protected down to minus 15 ,  its probly better protected than that  :-?
