Hi All,
My 96 3.0L Auto. is ticking over at about 1100 revs. which i take it is to high, so what should it be and how do i adjust it down to what it should be :).

Fix the fault, that will fix the tickover ;)

Tickover controled via ecu, so either:

airleak
faulty/dirty icv
some pillock has adjusted butterflies/throttle cable
coolant temp sensor

  Thanks guys for your replies.

I have only done about 100 or so miles since new Cambelt kit, Plugs/Leads, Camcover gaskets, and complete breather system clean including ICV and Throttle body.

Runs and drives great, just tick over high ::).

Have you got an EM light lit?

Could be as simple as the throttle position sensor being unplugged.

Check the 'engine block breather', looking from the front it is towards the rear of the engine lefthand side, rubber pipe fits over a brass tube which has a 1/8'' hole in it, check the hole is clean and make sure the rubber pipe is a good fit without a split. (This happened to me, revs hunting between 900 & 1200)
