remote door locking fob
« on: 17 October 2008, 15:39:12 »

Anyone know how to get a better range on the remote. Mine i have to be at the driver window to unlock the damn car.

Does this require a tech II to reprogram

battery replaced and still the same, any ideas?
Is there a sensor in the car that might need resetting etc?

its just infra red for you... sometimes it'll work shining it through the front window as your walking upto the door and it sometimes lets you unlock it from as far away as the boot ;) lol

-question, where exactly are you aiming it in the car? the ir sensors that black dome next to the rear view mirror so you can have it as far away as you like aslong as your aiming it directly at it and not taking the piss with the distance it'll unlock

thats on the rf units (the ones that have two buttons) the ir fobs usually have a big round one and a smaller one round the outside (but i dont know what the smaller one does lol)
a quick pic for you- this is the ir fob
you can see the large (and worn out on mine) button in the middle

The smaller one triggers the deadlock the same as pressing the RF type a second time within 10 seconds to dead lock.
It will be in the Drivers manual
