Desparate for *full* geometry set up: Manchester
« on: 16 October 2008, 15:42:02 »

Hi there,
After gritting my teeth and replacing my driver side front broken spring, I'm in need of somewhere to do a full geometry set up: its got new track rods, centre rod, new-ish wishbones and new ish Bilstein shocks to go with the Eibach springs....
Has anyone any reommendations? Most places can't get it on a ramp, and the last place I tried tried to charge me 100 quid to do bugger all, and then claimed that the camber wasn't adjustable on a Omega...and they were meant to be a motorsports specialist...

p.s I need to put at least 2 new tyres on it ...

Why don't you give Tony at WIM a call and ask them if there is anyone they would recommend?

I used this place a bit further round the M60 from you in Oldhamhttp://www.drurylaneservices.com/
I couldn't really find fault , but I did feel as though the best part of £100 was a bit expensive for what they actually did.

and Richard recently used this place in Bolton.

Local and knowing what they are doing are 2 very separate things.

My local place - All the gear, no idea!
Hence I drive to WIM and back!  (and well worth it too!)

Heh - I've been trying to engineer a WIM visit for a while - trouble is to get there would probably cost me half a set of tyres after re-jiggin the suspension ;-) might get down to them after getting a first stab done by the locals...

Mind you, I'm not bad at it myself with a spirit level and bits of string ;-)

Cheers,
Ed

You can get pretty close with a bit of string and a spirit level (or ideally angle gauge).

As i have recently changed my suspenders too i have been struggling to find a local specialist to re-align the fronts, so with the link above i found these guys in Chester:

QR Sport
Canal Side Buisness Park,
Tatten Hall,
Chester,
CH3 9BD
Tel: 01829 771165

Ask for a guy called "Darren" and explain that your a member on the OOF and he will discount the normal £80+VAT by 10% i also asked about me supplying the recomended replacment stretch bolts for the hub to strut and was advised they would change them at no extra charge.

If anyone takes up his offer please post your findings here ?

Don't forget if you do take a Mig to Nigel Langs they are now aware of the custom setup that WIM use, Tony @ WIM was very helpfull by sharing their data.  :y
