vehicle speed sensor
« on: 20 October 2008, 22:17:20 »

my tractor went into limp mode when its engine light came on. this is the fault i got from paperclip test (code24).  how exactly does speed sensor work because speedo reads ok. does the speed sensor fault put the tractor into limp mode or have also i got a more severe problem taking away my power?

but is it limp mode or just loss of power

i need to look at pump when got time to. the mid reads no worse than;
29.5inst mpg at whatever revs or speed at full throttle in 5th
23.2inst mpg "                                                       " in 4th
17.3instmpg "                                                        " in3rd
11.2instmpg "                                                        " in 2nd
?????in 1stgear
the engine will still rev upto 5000rpm when it eventually gets there.
the turbo still blows strongly through intercooler and into inlet manifold.
this tells me fuel starvation.

what has this to do with vehicle speed sensor?
or is code24 just registering as history from rolling road?
has my power problem put on the engine light but doesn't show on paperclip test because light came on when the power died.
