heating matrix - can that be done at my local garage, the car is going in for an MOT before the end of the month.

Am pretty sure main dealer will charge a fortune for it or it is specialised?

I belive its a tech two jobby, under "body chassis", the controls on your panel direct air and control the heat via a swithover valve all done by vacum.

Had it done on mine last winter, as I had the same symptoms, cold on one side even at full temp/max/hi, and hot on the other. With the climate running at ECO, would give steamy windows one side of the car and clear the other.

Should just be a plug in and re-set from what I remember, no spanners or screw-drivers required.

Hope this helped :y
