:( - It was the ABS ECU - Fairwell Omega :(
« on: 27 October 2008, 11:47:46 »

Remember me crying about my speedo not working, although some of you were not too sure whether it was the ABS ECU or not, because the issues I was having were very peculiar ......

>>>>> As stated as before, no ABS or TC warning lights on, the TC and ABS and speed sensitive steering works, just the speedo that does not.

Everything started working again when i reseated a relay, and now i've gone to just the speedo working.

I've given the car to a freind of mine, and he says that hes tested everything else, the only thing (not that I wantd to hear it) that it is the ABS ECU.

........................

I'm not going to get it done though, im gonna rid rid of it as it is, and with no bose, i won't get much for it, but i brought it for 1.1k and i spent £300 on a service and cambelt, £120 on 2 tyres, £60 on pads all round and put a £350 stereo in it (which ill take out)

So i've spent a bit much on it, so im going to get rid as i've spent far too much so I may not need to use this forum anymore, so i guess its a fairwell, and thanks for the advise on the issues on my car :)

Get a used abs ecu off a scrapper - same part nº as yours (& same model/year) - expect to pay £50 tops.  Fiddly job to do - allow 3-4 hours.

If u go ahead pm me & I'll tell you where to sell your faulty unit!

Hope you don't give up. I had the same problem and like dbug did the job. It is just a fiddle and a test of your patience doesn't require any great expertise otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do the job!

If you do give up can I have your car as a source of parts please? Seems to be something new every week.

blimey mazza!, is that all you are worrying about?? you wouldnt have liked mine then, i had auto boxes out & in a total of 4 times  before i got mine sorted [hence my name!], & yours i believe is 6 screws & a plug & as someone else has said about £50 outlay, there are plenty on fleabay being broken so as long as you match it to your car year/type youll be sorted, better the devil you know than the devil you dont ;)

I basically can't be bothered lol, and my patience is thin (and low on cash)

I drive a company car anyway, so really there is no need for the car, should of got rid of it ages ago really, because otherwise it is a waste me running 2 cars for no reason :s

I've just got back from the guy who had a look at it so its gonna go at some point soon.

Hey, if anyone here wants it, PM me and we'll talk :)
