Odd Climate Control problem
« on: 28 October 2008, 20:32:44 »

As said .. CC is misbehaving more and more ... mostly it works fine when the car is started from overnight stop, but when started warm the CC plays up, mostly running cold, and even with "demist" selected the airflow is mostly out of the centre vents instead of the screen vents. It also feels like "re-circ" is stuck on as things steam up pretty fast.

Press "auto+off" for anything up to a minute and occasionally the fan slows and the system runs to max hot then backs off to behave more reasonably, but mostly the reset just does not occur at all. Switching off and back on makes no difference.

If, whilst the CC is playing up, the car is switched right off and key removed for at least 2 minutes... then on restart it generaly (8 out of 10) works as it is supposed to !!

When it is playing up it is actually getting a tad dangerous at the moment as the screen fogs up very quickly, when it works properly it does so for hours and is a dream....

CC firmware was updated by TB at the WIM openday way back .. and as this problem had occured a couple of times, so classed as "infrequent" ... Mark DTM checked it, but did not "re-install" at Newent, the software was reporting no faults and the correct firmware number.

Scuttle drain is spotless, no damp in the carpets and the coolant system does not use ANY fluid at all.

Anyone any ideas ??  I'm stumped.. :(
