carb cleaner alternative????

hi all,was just wondering before getting round to cleaning breathers etc,is there an alternative to carb cleaner cos only seen aerosols.could you use Parafin or Meths or something else to give bits a good soak.Thanks

if i'v got anything i need to give a good soak i just spray alot into the pipe or whatever it is and block it at the other end to stop it just running out, tbh aerosol is better because it also blows the crud out at the same time ;)

I certainly find aerosols best for jobs like this as the pressure does it's stuff well blasting the crud out well! :y :y  It certainly did with my breathers!! :o :o :y :y :y :y :y

lol it's ok untill it's really blocked up and sprays back up the breather pipe into your mouth/eye lol as happen to me..mmm yummy carb cleaner

Hi ,
spray carb cleaner is good as it gets in the nooks and crannies...but beware using it around rubber seals as it will degrade and perish the seals if not careful.
Its basically a cellulose thinners solution so dont get it near paintwork either.

lol it was on a plenium i bought you see *shrugs* so i gave it a good going over!
