Vaccum pipe???
« on: 03 November 2008, 19:59:01 »

Hello,

I had my cam belt changed 300 miles ago and this morning went out and done the usual under bonnet checks, and noticed a 6mm vaccum pipe not connected, it runs through the bulk head but is only sticking out 12 inches, i spoke to the garage and they said it wasn't connected when it was in there. So is this a major prob or should i not worry about it.

Thanks

Ant

This guide should help you work out where it is supposed to go.

Check all the pipes are in the right places.

Thank you very much will have a look in the morning.

Would it have caused a damage not being connected?

If it's an Auto. then it could be the Geabox breather pipe which shouldn't be connected to anything on one end, so don't block it off, just let it dangle down the back of the engine :y.

If your car is an auto that is probably the gearbox breather pipe, it sould not be connected to anything just left open and cable tied to the breather pipes.
