its the same engine but.....

has metal cam covers for a start so when breathers get blocked it blows the rear crankseal thus destroying its clutch! as i learnt!

also being the vectra suffers from a fair few electrical faults!

its the same block but has different inlet manifold, different oil sump as its FWD mounted and a few other little differences

also mounted/crammed in the wrong way, makes it "interesting" to work on or even service. Makes you smile  when you put your foot down tho.

Ah ok, that doesn't answer my thoughts, i thought it might have a leaking cam cover as its got a bit of an annoying hesitance/misfire under acceleration, i'd say its more of a hesitannce actually. Any ideas?

yes spark plugs are rather interesting to change especially the rears!

nah tbh 3.0 Miggy is quicker handles better too and sounds better!

what has to come off to change the rears mate, got to do one soon!!!

Indeed...  I've heard of quite a few V6 SRI's (Vectra B model's) just spontaneously catching fire on the drive without being driven.

Indeed...  I've heard of quite a few V6 SRI's (Vectra B model's) just spontaneously catching fire on the drive without being driven.

Some friends had a N reg one and had all manner of grief with it when it was new. Including fires IIRC.

The whole inlet manifold needs to come off then that should give you the access you need! few hours of undoing torq nuts and your in!

Clean the Idle Air Valve and unblock the crank breathers and look into the 3 pipe mod!

Ok will do, thanks but on your first note, it appears the inlet manifold is in 3 parts a centre peice and then a piece either side which looks easily removeable to get at the plugs, just a 3 torx and 6 jubilee clips(securing side sections to center section  if you know what i mean)

yes inlet manifold is fairly easy to get off! just time consuming!

EGR Valve and throttle cable and all the vac leads need to be removed too!

cooling fan harness has been known to chaff through, and the battery back up siren behind the wing is known to start fires

Neither, a CDX with full leather, climate, cruise etc
