Central Locking problem
« on: 03 November 2008, 21:12:36 »

When I pressed my key fob to open the doors today everything unlocked ok, but within 1/2 a second they all locked again!!
After a couple of locking and unlocking attempts it seemed to be ok but when i sat in the car all the locks were open yet when i pulled the internal door lever to get out it acted as if it was locked!!

I resynched the key whilst in the ignition and still have the same problem. Currently i have to open the door sharpish before it locks itself!!

Any ideas/solutions would be appreciated!!

The only time I've ever had similar was when a door was not shut properly .. looked closed but wasn't quite ... central locking was doing its own thing .. up and down  like a whores draws !!!

Don't know if its worth checking all the doors, and boot, for correct closure ??

Thanks for the suggestion. All doors are shut properly.

The light only comes on when a button is depressed.  :y :-/

Is it expensive? I wonder is it worth changing the batteries in the fob first?

No, outside temp was 9.5 degrees, i had just travelled 1.5 miles. Thankfully no frost here in the last week!

Sure I have had similar behavior occasionally when the car battery has been low, may be worth a quick check.

Thanks, i will check

Update: I checked the battery at lunchtime and no green indicator was showing - i put in on charge for 4 hours and the green indicator came back on and the central locking works fine so far!(fingers crossed)

Thanks to all for your ideas and willyboy for your pm.   :y
