Hand hovvers nervously above panic button . . .
« on: 07 November 2008, 17:55:56 »

Just bought a cam belt kit from vauxhall stealership, according to the v6 cam belt dvd there should be directional arrows and a marker for the crank pulley notch. Neither exist on the new cam belt and i'm just about to throw my dummy out of my pram. . . are these important ? :-/

don't think so:  I got the text on the bar code in the same direction as the old one so it is ok.  It is however possible to get 1 tooth out on the crank pulley.  you'll see this because you will not be able to get the tensioners set to get it timed up.

the direction of the cam belt only really applies if you're re-fitting an old belt. A new belt will go on either way. The timing marks/ines on the belt are only an aid, you won't need them with a cam locking kits.  ;)  :y
