yeah thats the one, but without all the radio/phone stuff on it.

Radio not talking to it properly then, so reseat radio initially.

ok, will give that a shot. How do I get the cd autochanger to work without the display? got the code for it but can't figure out how to put it in. Had a look last night and the eject button for the cartrige is flashing

Until display working, its pretty much unusable.

You could try A N Other known to be working radio in your car, or your radio in another car.
Did all the connections look to be OK?
Try pulling out the radio cage & plugging the plugs directly into your radio ......  :-/
