Could anyone shed some helpful hints on how to unclog the main pipe from the P trap breather (situated at the back of the engine) to the bottom of the engine please

With the large metal pipe........poke out as much as you can and then soak in oven cleaner or some equally nasty stuff (soda crystals)

Just so people know - Carb Cleaner is £2.60 ish on Halfords Trade discount - worth having a can about the place!

Cheers,

Yes, wickied stuff that really blows out the crud!! :y :y

Worth cleaning out all your oil breathers whilst you are at it, and then on a regular basis thereafter! :y

You will need an oil change afterwards - worth joining autobahnstormers and getting a Vauxhall trade club card, £35 for 20l of semi synthetic - rough costs.

I would also recommend doing another a month or so later

thanks for all the advice, i only come across the problem when i found that the rocker gasket was leaking oil down onto the spark plugs, so i spent last saturday cleaning all that up and the throttle body and the crankcase breather filter

Also noticed that one of the ht leads was coroded to so a mixture of a few things that was making the car feel grumpy i think

But all in good hands this weekend (just don't tell the Mrs lol)

Thanks for the autobahnstormers idea well worth a look at  ;D

You've got a small rubber pipe and a larger one that splits into two connecting onto the breather box.

Is it the other end of the pipe that you need to clean as well? If so how do you access that space as it's a bit tight down there?

Thanks

I've done all the other pipes but need to do the large metal one as it cystalized and the oil isn't getting through
