Here, near dipstick base:

won't be anywhere near as easy to get at if you have aircon, unfortunately.

Nah, crank sensor is as common a fault as on the V6....plus the cam sensor (which never fails on the V6!!)

thanks again for your help , just off to put the plasters on my knuckels (yes i have got air-con)

done the cam sensor about 3000miles ago
