has anyone ever tryed to fit the bmw 2.5 tds ecu or just the chip to make the omega full power? if not does anyone know y not?

Aint the E36 2.5TDS 188bhp?
BMW 2.5TDS approx 150bhp.

Cannot simply swap ecus.  Never found a beemer chip that work in my ECU either.

Thanks, any UK companies do remaps or is it just Panel filter, De-Cat & Straight through exhaust, Shall V-Power Diesel and bobs your uncle jobbie?

Don't bother with a chavvy filters, the genuine GM one has about as good an airflow as you'll get. And fed with cold air.

I am running a chip, as are a few TD owners here...

Don't bother, MOT failure and waste of ££££s on the Td engine because it's an old design.

Just change the chip in the existing ECU .....
BMW ECU is a futile quest in a Vx car!

Hey TIM.    I have an AR35 in the shed but the 25 is still strong at 155K.
Question ? Does the mpg change or is it the same while going faster.
Currently 33ish

the mpg has changed marginally, i say that as i fitted the ar35 as soon as i got it due to a g/box warning [which was ecu in the end!] drove it for a week before chipping, its now a different animal as the flat spot on pull away has gone, its livelier right through the range, & according to the display im getting 47.5 mpg,[& i do give it some welly at times!] i would also say that your ar25 if the original box is probably on borrowed time, so as everybody says if you chip it then you must change the g/box or itll get eaten!!!, 9 out of 10 tractor owners that expressed a preferrence said their car preffered it ;D

Yes but the display Lies. What does it really do , or don't you care.
My last auto est elite did 57 on the display.???

to be honest i dont care ;) its questionable as to how accurate they are but it is good on the diesel & definately better than before the chip, & the power its got now is brilliant for a heavy old bus, if ever you get around to doing it youll wish youd done it earlier :y

I don't think I am getting what it says on the display either.
Going to do a check soon and will find out just what (roughly) it really is doing mpg wise.
On my last 2 trips (caravan in tow) it was telling me 37 mpg, I don't really believe that nearer 31 I reckon on a quick rough check. That is better than the around 26mpg I was getting pre chipped.
Anyway it's the wow factor now that it's been chipped that really amazed me from the slow slug it was before.
