Multi-ram Actuator
« on: 15 November 2008, 18:43:58 »

I've read. but probably not fully understood Marks DTM explanation in the Maintenance Guides.

I've been told that you should hear an audible click/clonk from  the actuator at certain revs (above 3.5k etc).  Mine does 'diddley squat!! So:
1 If correctly fitted what else could be the problem?
2 If not correctly fitted what should I do over & above what's in  the guide. AHA, Ta  :)

the audible click, i am fairly sure can only be heard with engine off when activated via tech 2.I've seen the boy and Kevin Wood do similar to check operation. Or stand by the open engine bay and blip the throttle body, you should see them move, vacuum and electrickery operated iirc.

I have had a poor performance issue with my car for quite a long time. I had checked and rechecked the multitude of vac pipes and connectors. I even replaced some.

Two days ago I checked them all again and found a split under the U shaped rubber pipe from the rear multiram to the electrical connection. I am fairly convinced that is what has been causing my troubles but haven't been able to test it as the gearbox is Kaput.

It might be worth double checking yours.
