Removing ash tray flap
« on: 25 November 2008, 22:13:57 »

The  hinged flap hiding the ash tray and ciggy lighter on my 2003 Elite estate will not latch in the closed position Any ideas on the problem?
or how can I get the whole unit out to have a look .Is it held by the phillips screws  I can see at the back of the unit?
Thanks in advance

if its the same as the prefacelift ashtray then theres a screw in the middle at the top after you've taken the inner tray out then it pulls out

Mine does the same, will not stay closed. Took ashtray out easy, but could not see an internal screw?? Guess will try with a torch. The 'old fashioned methods' cannot always be bettered.  Ah! Well!!
