« on: 29 November 2008, 11:14:03 »

I am new here so pls be patient. My Omega 2.2 CD is hard to start when really cold. I had a Vectra some years ago & had same problem so I replaced what I call the "heater plugs" Is the Omega the same & what is involved in changing them. My Omega is 2003. I hope someone can help & tell me the proper name as the weather is getting colder. Thanks.

They are usually known as glow plugs.Available from halfords etc.
they just unscrew from the cylinder head,easy enough to do.
whereabouts do you live Billy,someone might be able to assist if you arent that confident.
Edit; might be an idea to check that power supply is ok to the glow plugs before changing them,could be a fuse/relay or similar.

Hi billy, can you confirm that your car is
1= petrol
2=deisel

If it is deisel then the parts that you changed  on your vectra were indeed Glowplugs, but it might not be the problem on your car in this case, can you give some more info on the problems that you are experiencing, as i think there are reported problems with a small type of Hose or pipe that goes to the injectors.

If the car is petrol then that is again a compleatly different can of worms and the more info the better.  Welcome to the oof billy and with all the combined knowledge on here we will get your miggy running sweet as very soon.
