Key wouldnt turn in ignition.
« on: 03 December 2008, 08:24:32 »

Iw was VERY cold this morning, windscreen frozen and refrozen.
Opened a door, put something in, shut door, it was too frozen to latch!  nearly had to tie it shut!

Anyway, key in ignition, and it wouldnt turn at all :(
Lots of jiggling, and trying with both keys.

Eventually turned, and car started fine.

Now, can i put this down to the cold, or should I be looking for a problem (before its too late?)

Cheers

Sounds like the ign lock had also frozen.

Wee squirt of deicer in, to see if it works?  May well be worth cleaning it out and a light lube with something like graphite spray, rather than WD.

was thinking about spraying a little lube in, or coating the key in lube, then few turns etc

wasnt sure if there was anything to damage doing that though.
