Are they parked at the bottom of the screen, or did they stop mid sweep? When you turn them on, can you hear anything from under the windscreen? It isn't uncommon for the mechanism to come loose from the motor so that even though the motor is turning, the wipers don't move acros the screen.

the window wipers just stopped mid flow, i had to push them back down, when I do put them on you can hear a clicking noise as if it's working but they do not move.

Sounds like the motors turning but nothings connected, maybe the bolt come off the motor arm or summat. Where abouts in the world are you Anna? Maybe someone local can help, should not be too expensive, lets hope it doesnt rain too much til its fixed.

The scuttle is the black plastic bit that fits at the bottom of you screen & your wiper spindles poke through it!  ;)
Are you doing the job or asking friend/neighbour/garage to fix it?
Before you condemn the motor you need to have a look to see what's happening when you turn the wiper switch on. As said above, it's not uncommon for a nut to come slack causing the wipers to not wipe. The motor turns but nothing happens. If so it's just a time thing to sort & cost nothing .... if you do it. Even if it is something more, there are plenty of cars being broken here that could supply you with A N Other wiper motor ( and linkage)
