New engine - oil change needed
« on: 11 December 2008, 20:25:51 »

You know I had to have a new engine courtesy of VX following the cam Belt fiasco.

So I have dutifully done what was set out in engine warranty documents - completed 1000 miles and then tried to book in for oil change.

As has been the case throughout in this saga I cannot get a straight answer and it has been referred to VX for a decision.

Dealer says no need to change oil these days after 1000 miles - I am asking for someting more diefinite in terms of complying with warranty. Believe it or not this has been referred back to VX for a decison from a visitng engineer and also question of who pays for the oil in the event it should be changed.

Tomorrow will be day 3 of this one.

I can find solutions to problems in Congo, Ivory Coast, Liberia and Sierra Leone but I cannot deal with VX seemingly!!!

they are talking about £75 for the oil and filter change - but I agree that this is not very customer friendly - why does it have this requirement to change oil in warranty docs if it is not a requirement in practice???

£15? i think I'd have bought a gallon of oil & filter on Trade Club card and given it to them to 'fit' ...... it'd have been cheaper.  ;D  ;D
