smoke screen!!

i know my cam seals need doing but yest my 2.0 miggys temp gage shot thru the roof and when i checked the water ex/tank..it was empty!!..now if i rev it -it looks like a smoke screen in the rear view.......sigh....now what?....anybody??

When you say smoke,is it steam ? could be head gasket :(

Have you any obvious water leaks?  If not suspect hg if still losing water. :(

On the 2.0ltr its very easy. Pricey? No not pricey at all, all you need to buy is the head gasket set including head bolts.  Thats all you need, oh apart from new oil filter and oil, just to be on the safe side.

if as you say the temp gauge went through the roof then youd better get the head checked first for cracks or distortion, otherwise you might go through doing it for nothing, plus the fact that its advisable to get it skimmed anyway, they will tell you how bad it is plus pressure test it at the same time,,,,good luck :y
