lol it might be worth you buying the courtenaysport low running thermostat, opens up earlier so it keeps the engine cooler- doesnt really matter till you hammer it alot
Why, there's nothing wrong with the existing cooling system so long as its in good working order.

sorry EP just that from my experience of the 2.0 trying to keep up with the octavia vrs and failing rather badly it got quite hot so needed to be driven hard with the heater on! and the V6's run hotter and apparently were prone to overheating when towing (or hammering in my case)

Towing over the moors in Devon and Cornwall in the summer - NO problems with heat at all

Last summer my V6 towed a 1600 Kg 'van all the way to Millau (South of France) and up some 3000 ft mountains without overheating at all, and I tow very regularly in the UK, so to say they can't tow without overheating is b****cks !!

But as said earlier, the cooling sysytem does need to be right. My car had no apparent overheating problems till I put a caravan on the back, the temp went to the top of the gauge on the first looong uphill it came to. A new rad was fitted after the cleaned & flushed rad sprung a leak as far from home as it could possibly spring a leak!  ;)  :y  :y  :y

The 3.0 runs at 90 degrees alex, about the same or less than the 2.0...and with much more power and torque it pulls the weight easier too...my 2.5 ran at about 92 degrees and and fans cut in at 95...

All Omegas shoudl cruise just under mid point on the gauge (so 93/94 on prefacelifts, 88/89 on facelifts), rising to just over midpoint before stage 1 fans kick in
