Quick job to do breathers
« on: 07 January 2009, 10:37:43 »

Had some time yesterday as working from home to just do some checks on the engine Oil, Coolant and so on. One of the jobs i did was to clean the breathers and was very surprised to see how much muck was in them after they here done in Setember. The car has had 3k oil changes with VX oil and not may short tips most long motorway runs.

Looks like the cold has a big effect on the system so just a tip if you have not done the breathers for some time may be a good time to check as it is a qiuck job . I also remove the thottle body and gave that a clean to.  :y.

Thanks to the forum getting more confindent on doing these small jobs now :y :y.

I used hot water as had no carb cleaner at the time also check that all the seals are inplace afterwards and in good a good state. Used the hole to give a good strong jet of water .

( Also most sound as if i know what i am talking about) ;D ;D ;D

How difficult is it to get the pipes off fron the back of the engine? I've done the bits on top of the Plenum and the throttle body but can't quite figure how to get the remaining pipes off.
