Handbrake
« on: 07 January 2009, 12:49:43 »

I have a 3.0 litre v6 omega elite automatic, the handbrake cable has snapped. I know that it is ok without a cable as its an auto but does anyone know if its easy to fit  a new one.

Easy enough.   An aftermarket cable should cost you about 20 quid (very expensive from Vx).

Its not OK to keep using without handbrake. Remember, its an MOT failure ;)

I suspect you have not been using handbrake much, hence its seized, then snapped when you did try ;)

You'll still get pulled for it though ;) (not that you will for a handbrake, unless you make a idiot of yourself on a steep hill, trying to do a hill start)

Buy a pattern part, the Vx price is stupidly expensive (thier parts having being going up to the point of not being competitive just recently!).
