What does the small vac pipe under the throttle

Just been having a check and fround the thin small vac pipe that plugs in under the throttle body not conected. Conected now ,but just whated to know what it does and how it would effect the runing of the car if not pluged in

That's the reference port to the fuel pressure regulator. It would probably cause a slight  change in fuel pressure and a slight air leak into the induction system. Probably not enough to cause an issue. Make sure it hasn't been pulled out at the other end too (although difficult to tell with the plenum on).

IIRC the reference to the FPR on the 3.2 isn't to the vacuum side of the throttle, which is why it doesn't make much odds. On some cars, the fuel pressure is referenced to the intake vacuum, so the pressure differential across the injectors is kept constant.
