Omega 2.2I power loss and missfire at high speed.
« on: 12 January 2009, 21:31:48 »

Hi folks seriously need help on on this its been a crazy 4 months with this car. we dont know whats wrong with this - its bound to be a small thing causing this.

the history
started off with timing belt and water pump being changed.
then after a while took three turns of the key to start her and when cold it would idle rough.
when cold you couldnt move her too well until warmed up.still cant.
always noticed a power loss in this car.
smelt a burning smell in the car - exhaust blowing .
started to hestiate/misfire after a few months. got really bad.
done tests/dignostics
changed Bank 1 o2 sensor
MAF sensor
Spark plugs
Coil pack
Fuel filter
cleaned egr and icv
new airfilter
new gasket for the cover.
thought it might be the exhausts with the big holes .
new exhaust today sweet and quiet
still power loss and misfiring at high speed. we dont know where to look now.

seriously need help this is a structurally and clean motor and a cdx and all.

any ideas folks??

i know a cat failure would cause power loss but not misfire.

mechanic going to look at the timing belt tommrow he reckons that the last mechanic might have not set it right would an offset even a little cause missfire?

HELPPP :( such a lovely car hate to sell it.

If it happened after the cambelt change - check the setup of the valve timing.

Also check spark plug and coil pack condition...
