Windscreen washers not working!
« on: 23 January 2009, 19:47:14 »

They stopped last week! I thought they were frozen but they are not. Motor is still running and no water appears to be coming out underneath (I thought perhaps a pipe had come off).

Any ideas anyone? 1996 2.5CDX by the way.

The pump is a push fit into what looks like a rubber grommet in the washer bottle. If you remove it, you'l find that it also contains a filter. It'll be full of gunge! Give it a good wash & you'll have water that reaches your screen! ;D  ;D  :y

If washing up liquid or cheap screenwash has ben used they are probably gunged up with slimy crud.

All parts are removable for cleaning .. just needs patience and some thin stiff wire ...

Unlucky!  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D
Mine came courtesy of the place next to where I used to work making Halls Mentholyptus. It'd been outside for ages till I liberated it & fixed it!  :y  :y  :y
Dead handy if you have a few quid you want to spend at Machine Mart/etc  :y  :y
