let the car warm up, leave it running, jack drivers side up, undo the bolt on the gearbox, let the jack off so the car sits back on the floor level,. If oil starts to run out put the bolt back in its fine, if no oil comes put some in.
Here is the tricky part, if you have some sort of bottle you can put a tube in great, I use a small hand pump with pipes each end  :y

Yep, exactly the same.
Can you see if there's an obvious leak though?

Which warning light? There's no low level alarm/light on the gearbox.  :-/

handy way to fill if needed is to run a tube from the filler hole with a funnel other end and pour the fluid in to the funnel...or get the atf from halfords...the bottle has an extendable tube on the bottle so you can just shove it in the hole and squeeze the bottle...although still easier to use a tube and funnel as you dont need to be under the car without a jack to give you the room needed lol

It's telling you there's a fault, not neccessarily low fluid. The car needs the code read to see what's upsetting the g/box. :y It could be anything .....   :-/

Still worth topping up as soon as you can - will not do any harm.

If you can get hold of a cheap pump up garden sprayer you will save yourself a lot of mess.
Just fill with ATF, remove the spray nozzle, pump up and fire into the filler hole.
