Iused to have surprise misting up. Read up on the forum to check under the scuttle, and was gobsmacked to find water to a depth of about 5" under the pollen filter housing. I used a pressure hose on the drain hole location and it all suddenly "glugged away"no trouble since. In fact the car interior is now, 2 weeks later much dryer. What a score!! :y :y :y

this is very common, out of sight out of mind. when I bought mine at the end of october it was misting up a bit, then i found this forum and read about the skuttle drains. Checked them and there was an 1" or so of water standing in there. I make it a habbit of checking them every week or so (not really an issue this time of year as no leaves on trees) but always worth a look.

Just thinking about this a with the cold temps that we have been having well under 4c am i right in thinking that the AC will not work below this temp and if so, if the windows mist up there would be no was of demising them is that right.

You are correct regarding A/C and low temps but the screen vents will still clear the screen :)

True. If the AC runs at sub-zero temperatures the evaporator will just ice up rather than extract water as condensation and let it drain off (in actual fact the expansion valve will probably just shut it down anyway), so it has no benefit.

Having said that, if the air temperature is well below zero, the air is normally very dry anyway, and becomes (relatively) drier when it is heated, so it is effective at clearing glass without the AC.

Hi all, i have looked into the drain under the skuttle and yes it was blocked. I have cleared it out but still i have the misting problem.
I have noticed something new.... only a couple of times has this happened but when i start the car from cold the heater blower will not work no matter what is pressed on the dashboard, even when the car had got to a good working temp the fans dont come on. It is all lite up and on, i can hear the ducts moving when i press different buttons just no blower, then maybe 10 mins later it all kicks in and starts blowing. But it does not stop the misting unless i have the window open a bit. Also
not having a car with air con before when i tried the other day to put it on LO it blew cold but it was not really that cold well i didnt think so anyway... could i have a problem with the gas or something could this relate to the misting problem??
Cheers Andrew

You can get to the fan if you pull the glove box out - I had the wiring connector break (no idea why) so cable tied the plug and socket together

Got the same problem in my estate but no noticeable dampness anywhere else.

I noticed that there's almost no air being blown onto the screen regardless of ECC controls. The fan works fine so I'm presuming it's a problem with at least the stepper-controlled demister valve? There's doesn't seem to be any response to resetting the valves (by holding AUTO and OFF in for 5 secs) and all fuses are intact.

Is it a duff control board behind the control buttons, or a hidden fuse or something? Help appreciated please.
